The selectee for this position will serve as Maintenance Services Assistant (OA) in the Plant Management - Engineer Support, Facilities Management Department of NAVAL MEDICAL CENTER-San Diego. Learn more about this agency
Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Receive and appropriately processes maintenance work requests submitted to the department.
Provide and conducts technical review of all maintenance records through Defense Medical Logistics Service Support Facility Management Module (DMLSS-FM) and Public Works Systems.
Provide technical data using computer programs i..e. DMLSS-FM and Public Works Systems.
Perform various office automation supports from routine word-processing to database reports.
Provide training to clerical staff and customers on the correct insertion of emergency/service work request into the DMLSS-FM Customer Support Modules in the absence of the Facilities System Specialist.
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.
This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
To qualify for the Maintenance Services Assistant (OA), GS-0303-05, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Have at least one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public. Specialized experience is defined as:
Utilizing microcomputer programs to inputting data and track Job Order Numbers.
Utilizing knowledge of internal Job Order Numbers to recognize erroneous customer Job Order Numbers.
Distinguishing between maintenance, emergency/service, recurring and specific work requests.
Accomplishing tasks associated with work input as related to Emergency/Service work.
Understanding Government Credit Card procedures for the ordering of supplies.
OR
Have successfully completed 4 years of higher level education above high school.
OR
Have a combination of experience as described under letter A above and education as described under letter B above which, when combined, is equivalent to 100% of the qualification requirement.
