We are looking for individuals who are interested in working in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.

These positions will be short term for approximately 3 months with a possibility of extension. Duration of appointments will be less than 6 months with varied start dates. There will be no offers of permanent employment from this selection process.

Open to Persons residing in Winnipeg and within commuting distance of Winnipeg.

Preference for appointment will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order.

Duties

Duties you may be expected to perform may include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepares and maintains tax returns for processing and storage; distributes files and documents; and provides general file maintenance, control and support services.
  • Maintains and updates records and files related to taxpayers and/or benefit recipients’ returns, schedules and forms.
  • Handles incoming remittance mail, allocates payments to taxpayer accounts and prepares and reconciles daily bank deposits.
  • Analyzes and assesses information, documentation, and/or returns.
  • Assists in the operation of printers and/or inserters.
  • Provides materiel handling, mail and general services.
  • Lift heavy boxes exceeding 10 kilograms and stand for long periods of time.
  • Some positions require performing repetitive tasks using electric staplers and labelers.
  • Standing and/or sitting for prolonged period.

Have successfully completed a secondary school diploma (High School).

Information Regarding Testing

Rescheduling will be for extraordinary situations only. The Hiring Manager will make decisions on a case-by-case basis.

If you have valid test results using the CRA standardized assessment tools, you do not need to be reassessed; however, you can ask to be reassessed to try and improve your level(s) as long as you meet the re-test period restrictions.

A top down approach on assessment results may be invoked at any stage in this process to limit numbers of candidates, or for appointment purposes.

Failure to achieve a pass mark in any essential assessment will result in candidates not proceeding further in the process. Assessment results may be used for appointment.

Conditions of employment
