This position is located at the US Army Installation Management Command, US Army Garrison Fort McCoy, Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security, Training Division, Range Branch, Range Maintenance Section, Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
Fort McCoy is located in a good rural area, between Tomah and Sparta. The area offers commendable schools and reasonable housing costs situated between two major interstates. Fort McCoy has an excellent Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program. Activities open to employees include the Whitetail Ridge Recreation Activity (ski hill, tubing and other winter sports), a fitness center with Olympic-size pool, saunas etc. and Pine View Recreation Area with an RV/camping park. Duties
Use heavy equipment to repair range target berms; load gravel and dirt; dig holes, fill low areas, and level ground
Conduct daily/weekly inspections of range targets/training facilities for needed repairs
Check condition of obstacles, ropes, boards, signs, windows and doors and repair if necessary
Clean ranges, windows, sweep floors, dust and organize
Travel Required
Occasional Travel
The business travel requirement is 5%.

Key Requirements
This position requires a Commercial Driver's License.
Some weekend and beyond the normal operating hours of work required.
This position requires successful completion of a medical examination.
This position is subject to mandatory drug testing.
Qualifications
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Range Maintenance Worker (MVO/FLO)~ without more than normal supervision. Ability to perform common operation of heavy equipment, assist in building structures - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprinting reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
Physical Efforts: Work involves walking, bending, reaching, and arm and leg movement to operate equipment controls. Employee exerts very heavy physical effort in lifting, carrying, and moving range maintenance equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is performed outside exposed to all types of weather. Subject to minor injuries from use of tools. Required to enter the installation live fire area.
