About the Position:
This position is located at Tripler Army Medical Center which is the only federal tertiary care hospital in the Pacific Basin. It supports 264,000 local active duty and retired military personnel, their families, and veteran beneficiaries. In addition, the referral population includes 171,000 military personnel, family members, veteran beneficiaries, residents of nine U.S. affiliated jurisdictions (American Samoa, Guam, and the former Trust Territories), and forward-deployed forces in more than 40 countries throughout the Pacific.
Currently authorized 11.32% Cost of Living Allowance - subject to change. Salary includes applicable locality pay.

Duties
Provide clerical and administrative duties in support of the hospital's credentialing and privileging program for all physician and non-physician Health Care Providers.
Establish and maintain a Practitioner's Credentials File (PCF) for appropriate individuals entering Department of the Army, Civil Service, and contract employment.
Process the PCF through the necessary departments /services chiefs and apply applicable regulations to determine the correct category of privileges.
Monitor and maintain all State Board Licenses, National and Board Certifications, Contingency Trainings and any other specialty certifications for privileged providers, nursing staff, and clinical support staff.
Monitor and maintain Centralized Credentials Quality Assurance System (CCQAS) database.
Obtain appropriate prime source verifications of all qualifying documents for all provider types.
Routinely inspect and audit PCF to ensure compliance with Army Regulation and Joint Commission Standards.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes verifying credentials for health care positions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as public administration or public health administration.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
