The Naval Intelligence Community spans across many organizations that provide direct support to the Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and various Joint and Fleet Commands. The selectee for this position serves as a entry/developmental INTELLIGENCE SPECIALIST at the GG-07 or GG-09 grade level performing basic tasks regarding the analysis, evaluation, collection, interpretation, or dissemination of information and/or products relative to an assigned area(s) on political, economic, social, cultural, physical, geographic, technical or military conditions for one or more foreign countries.
This position is for the KENNEDY Irregular Warfare Center (KIWC), within the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI), located in Suitland, MD.

Duties

• Utilize basic intelligence principles and methods and established procedures to analyze and evaluate information.
• Support U.S Navy SEAL Teams and Navy Expeditionary Combat Command Units (EOD, SEABEES, Coastal Riverine) with intelligence to meet current and planned mission requirements.
• Convey fundamental understanding of tactics techniques and procedures of terrorist networks and operations.
• Identify social and tribal networks in relation to potential targets via message searches, data mining and open source searches to determine relationships of individuals and groups.
• Regularly engage with mission partners and other intelligence agencies.
• Respond to short-notice Requests for Information (RFI's) in support of CONUS and overseas mission partners.
• Brief command members and mission partners on subjects of interest to the community.
• Deploy in support of mission partners throughout the world, in remote areas under austere conditions.

GG-07:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GG/GS-05 in the federal government (or in the private or public sector) performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Assist in the evaluation of intelligence data/material in concurrence with established practices. 2) Extract intelligence data to be included in basic reports. 3) Assist in the identification of intelligence gaps and recommend specific collection requirements to fill gaps and evaluate the intelligence collected in response to those requirements. 4) Assist in the analysis and evaluation of intelligence information obtained on the basis of reliability and credibility of source, and the significance of the information.

You possess a 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
GG-09:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GG/GS-07 in the federal government (or in the private or public sector) performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Prepare basic reports to interpret, evaluate and integrate all-source intelligence on terrorist social networks and counter intelligence tactics and techniques. 2) Perform analytical reach back services in response to time-sensitive requests from deployed forces. 3) Evaluate collection system solutions in support of the All-Source intelligence production process. 4) Assist in the identification of intelligence gaps to address problematic occurrences.

You possess a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR (2) full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication by a determining authority. A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to obtain and maintain this required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. This position is in the excepted service. Non-DCIPS applicants selected for a DCIPS position must acknowledge in writing, prior to actual appointment to the DCIPS position, that the position for which he or she has been selected is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS. Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must also acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS position. This acknowledgement is necessary as movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited if the employee does not possess competitive status.
