Office Manager Clerk Stenographer 11R Salary $41,803.67 - $47,295.99 annually An eligibility list may be established. The BC Coroner's Service is responsible, under the Coroner's Act, for conducting thorough, independent investigations of factors contributing to the unexpected, unattended or unexplained deaths of persons in BC and for issuing related recommendations to assist in preventing future deaths and improving community safety and quality of life for all British Columbians. Reporting to the Regional Coroner, the Office Manager provides support to program management and staff and coordinates office administration functions, human resources, payroll, facilities and asset management for the Island Regional Coroner's Office. Your expertise in government procedures and processes will help you to coordinate the management of all records and documentation for the branch, including the ARCS/ORCS record management system. A key member of the team, you will supervise staff in their assignment of work, development and evaluation of performance plans and approval of leave. Your strong service orientation and outgoing personality will be a positive asset to achieving goals in this varying work environment. Your mature, professional manner will assist you as the Island Regional Coroner's Office liaison, responding to enquiries in person and over phone from next of kin, police, media, general public, insurance companies and other government agencies. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: • Secondary school graduation • Minimum 5 years current work experience in an Administrative position. • Experience in computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, etc. • Minimum six (6) months supervisory experience. Preference may be given to candidates with a minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
