Duties
Provide general labour to support the maintenance of ecological integrity within terrestrial ecosystems as part of the vegetation management program. This program aims to maintain the ecological integrity of terrestrial communities by actively managing invasive plants and restoring native vegetation in damaged areas. Active management includes searching for, and documenting, occurrences of invasive plants; hand pulling, cutting, and applying herbicide to remove invasive plants; obtaining native plant materials; and, restoring damaged sites with native plants. Work is focused primarily in the foothills fescue parkland. The crew may also assist with five-needle pine species recovery and other projects as required. Work is primarily conducted in teams, and teamwork is essential.Intent of the process
