Duties
Parks Canada is seeking motivated and bilingual individuals who enjoy the challenges of a fast paced work environment. The dispatch coverage area includes Banff, Waterton Lakes, Yoho and Kootenay National Parks as well as several national parks in Quebec where French is the primary language used.We are looking for individuals with the ability to work calmly and effectively under the pressures of competing work demands, to deal with emergency situations, to work repeated shift work (including night shifts). This type of work requires a high degree of precision and accuracy to use established protocols to record and/or relay information to and from a variety of sources.
Given the nature and scope of this work, strong oral and written communication in both English and French are essential. For emergency radiotelephone communication, the ability to speak in a calm, clear, regular and understandable manner is imperative.
Intent of the process
The results may be used in the future to fill permanent or temporary vacancies that may arise at the GS-PRC-05 group and level in the Banff Field Unit, in various locations, with full or part-time hours for various tenures, such as: Indeterminate, Term, Acting Assignment or Assignment at level, depending on status of the selected candidate.Positions to be filled: Number to be determined
