Guardianship Worker Social Program Officer 24R (Growth Series) $52,329.92 - $69,104.56 annually plus $38.87 bi-weekly isolation allowance An eligibility list may be established to fill permanent and/or temporary vacancies A rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference for children and families As a Guardianship Worker, you strive to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children out of parental care. You develop and supervise care plans, inform caregivers of their responsibilities, monitor care placements and provide assistance and guidance regarding the child’s behaviour. The integrated office in Prince Rupert is made up of the following disciplines in addition to guardianship – intake, family service, resources, adoption, child and youth with special needs, child and youth mental health and youth justice. Close working relationships and regular collaboration are a necessity for strong planning for children and youth out of parental care. Your skill set includes excellent communication skills and the teamwork and collaborative skills required to work productively with an interdisciplinary team and a diverse group of caregivers. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: • BSW or MSW; or BA Child and Youth Care; or M.Ed. Counselling/MA Clinical Psychology, having completed a practicum in family and child welfare; or equivalent. • Candidates must either have, or be eligible to attain, full guardianship delegation (C 4). • Preference may be given applicants who have experience as a social worker responsible for providing a full range of child protection duties under provincial or equivalent child welfare legislation within the last five years. NOTE: If your degree is obtained outside of Canada, have you had it assessed for equivalency to work in British Columbia through the International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES). Applicants selected to move forward in the hiring process may be assessed on the Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies as outlined in the attached Job Profile. A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
