The selectee for this position will serve as a Transportation Assistant(Passenger) in the Navy Recruiting District of NRD SAN DIEGO. Learn more about this agency
Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Create and verify travel documents(e.g. airline tickets, car rental, lodging reservations) for accuracy.
Process new government travel card applications and verify government travel card training for personnel using automated systems.
Review travel card accounts to ensure prompt payments of balances.
Generate, review, and route activity travel transactions reports to supervisor
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationaryperiod.

Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal
Physical Demands: The work may require some physical effort, such as standing, walking, bending, or sitting. No special physical demands.
Work environment: The work primarily in an office setting involving everyday risks or discomfort.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Uses transportation or traffic management rules to perform transportation support duties; 2) Applies regulations to respond to recurring questions from agency or activity personnel, customers, commercial carries, or others; 3) Performs voucher examining duties related to recurring or standardized transactions; 4) Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, fax machines, copiers, etc. to perform clerical and administrative functions . OR successfully completed four years of education above high school level OR Acombination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
