Summary
This vacancy is for a Office Automation Assistant position in the Computer Services Division (CSvD) located at the U.S. Census Bureau, Bowie Computer Center Office Bowie, Maryland.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Office Automation Assistant GS-0326-05 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
A probationary period may be required.
This position is ELIGIBLE for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).
The individual selected for this position will perform the following duties at the full performance level of GS-05:
Prepare a variety of documents using office automation software.
Proofread materials to ensure conformance with office standards.
Conduct inventory analysis.
Perform troubleshooting of system and/or software problems encountered by coworkers, using a variety of diagnostic approaches.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: For the GS-05, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes preparing documents such as memorandums, outlines and/or reports using Excel, Word and Powerpoint; editing and reformatting electronic drafts of documents that often require graphics and tables; ensuring briefing reports are error free; using office procedures and guidelines to prepare materials; developing training aids; reconciling inventory, property, receiving reports and packing slips; diagnosing and resolving hardware/software problems; determining which deficiencies cannot be corrected internally and have escalated to appropriate area. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
Education: 4 years above high school.
