  Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for or performs a wide variety of public service duties: circulation, reference/readers advisory,database searching, collection maintenance, programming, marketing, displays/publicity and interlibrary loans.
  2. Performs selected administrative management duties to include ensuring internal controls are in place in public services and/or technical services.
  3. Trains others in the performance of library technician duties.
  4. May perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching,reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

  Qualifications

  One year of work experience that equipped the applicant with practical knowledge of library or related information services, tools, and methods and procedures. Experience must have been gained at the next lower level.
  
  Applicants meeting the best qualified criteria will be considered best qualified. Eligible candidates who meet the best qualified criteria will be referred to the selecting official first. Remaining applicants will be referred for consideration if the certificate (referral list) is returned with no selection.
  
  Applicants who meet the following criteria will be considered best qualified:

  • At least one year previous experience at an Army MWR Library.
  • Experience, education or training that has provided the basic knowledge of diagnosing and resolving technology problems in response to customer-reported incidents, as well as installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer software.
  • Previous experience with Millennium and/or Sierra integrated library systems.
