  About the Position:
  Administrative Support Assistant (OA) processes complex transactions and completes assignments within a framework of established procedures. These administrative services are required to operate a designated functional area for the organization as the recognized authority for a variety of administrative matters. This Administrative Support Assistant (OA) position is located in Celina, Clay, Tennessee.

  Responsibilities

  Serve as point of contact for all personnel management activities and input into DCPDS.
  Maintain information and statistical data and prepares various recurring and non-recurring reports.
  Coordinate, prepare, track and initiate personnel related actions for civilian employees to include annual performance appraisals, work/leave schedules, awards, promotions, recruitment and travel and transportation.
  Prepare meeting agenda, including such items as unfinished business from previous meetings, current issues, and notifications of members.
  Prepares and analyzes the fiscal year operating budget for the area assigned to include salaries, travel, training, supplies & materials, plant, and all related costs both direct and indirect.
  Processes travel orders for office staff personnel including the research of travel modes and accommodations, cost analysis, coordination of travel arrangements, and resolving discrepancies
  Serves as responsible employee designee/receiving agent, signing for supplies/services received and assures documents are processed in a timely manner.

  Qualifications

  In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/ or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.
  
  Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
  
  GS-5 Qualifications:
  Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: working/functioning knowledge of computerized Programs (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.), public reception Skills: face-to-face and telephonically, composing basic written correspondence, maintaining schedules/calendars/setting appointments in Office setting, and basic office filing.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
  OR
  Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
  OR
  Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
  
  GS-6 Qualifications:
  Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing an automated timekeeping system, composing formatted reports, maintaining office records and files for audit purposes, office budget tracking, management, and accountability (labor, utilities, travel), Basic fiscal Law, regulation, and guidance, training and experience with composition of programmatic correspondence, employee travel and TDY management, receiving on materials and services, and maintaining Employee Training program (electronic program and paper).This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
  
  Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
