The selectee for this position will serve as a Patient Appointment Call Center Agent in the Naval Health Care New England Patient Appointment Call Center in Newport, RI of Naval Health Care. Learn more about this agency
Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Receiving customer contacts(voice, email, web).
Determining appointments needed.
Accessing available appointments through the Composite Health Care System (CHCS) that meet the patients needs.
Book appropriate appointment accordng to TRICARE and Naval Health Care New England appointment criteria and business rule.
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period.

Requirements:
All qualifications requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.
Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final (e.g., confidential/secret/top secret, etc.) security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. For the GS-5: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-4 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Using a keyboard to enter and retrieve data from/to a specialized computer system or database.
- Operating computer systems to provide patient appointment services.
- Researching operating manuals to assist in accomplishing job objectives.
- Interpreting commonly used medical terminology.
