Located in SW OK near the Texas border, Fort Sill adjoins the city of Lawton, OK. The total population of the city and our installation combined is approx. 100,000. The cost of living is reasonable; public bus transportation is available. Fort Sill is within 1 1/2 hours driving distance to Oklahoma City and 3 hours driving time to the Dallas/Fort Worth metro. Commercial flights are available to the commercial airport in Lawton, OK (9 miles from post). Fort Sill enjoys an outstanding cooperative relationship with the City of Lawton. Our beautiful installation is steeped in natural, living history. It is the only active Army Installation on the Southern Plains which was built during the Indian Wars. Fort Sill is a national historic landmark, and our museum is full of early frontier artifacts.

Responsibilities
Duties include routine child care, helping with materials and activities, receiving children, interacting with and attending to their physical needs.

Conditions of Employment:

2. Successfully complete all required background checks to include a health screening.
3. Be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Be able to walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
4. Must be 18 years of age by the time of appointment (approx. entrance of duty date 10/19/2017).
5. Be generally available to work irregular hours, evenings and/or weekends.
6. Perform duties that involve working in an indoor and outdoor environment.
7. Travel to on and off post locations may be required.
8. Legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
9. Successful completion of training requirements within the prescribed time frame and demonstrated on the job competence is required.
Qualifications
Entry Level Requirements
1. Candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
Skill Level Requirements
1. Candidate must meet the entry level requirements and
2. Possess three (3) months experience working in a group program with children/youth, and have completed a military service Entry Level Training Certificate. -OR-
1. Candidate must meet entry level requirements and
2. Six months of experience working in a group program with children/youth, plus nine (9) semester hours of college credit with course content directly related to the age group to which assigned
Target Level Requirements
1. Candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Possess 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus Army or other military service Foundation Level Training as evidenced by service-issued Certificate of Completion. -OR-
2. Possess 18 months of experience working in a group program with children or youth, plus an associate's degree or least 60 semester hours of college credit which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content directly related to the age group to which assigned. -OR-
2. A bachelor's degree or at least 120 semester hours which included a major course of study (24 semester hours) with content as indicated above. -OR-
2. Possess and maintain one of the following directly related to the age group of the position to which assigned: Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential, Military School Age Credential, Army Youth Practicum, or other nationally recognized Youth Development Credential.
