Summary

About the Agency

The selectee for this position will serve as a Security Assistant (SAP) in the Director of training Department of NAVAVNWARDEVCEN. The selectee assists in the initiation, review, submission, and tracking of personnel security investigations to ensure clearance eligibility's are maintained at appropriate levels and within DoD mandated eligibility timeframes.

Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

• Establish personnel security clearance or investigative records or computerized data concerning military and civilian personnel authorized access to Special Access Program material.
• Query security databases to research requests for information.
• Conduct security inspections to identify and resolve security problems to ensure compliance with personnel security regulations and procedures.
• Draft written responses to requests for security information.
• Prepare Classification Specification documentation for new and existing classified programs

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Initiate, submit or track personnel security investigations to determine clearance level OR completed 4 years above high school.

Requirements:

All qualifications requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.

Must be able to obtain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty AND must be able to maintain the required level of clearance while employed in the subject position. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the applicant fails to report to the scheduled drug test appointment. Incumbents of drug testing designated positions will be subject to random testing. Drug test results will be provided to the employing activity/command.

Selectee must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.

The job may require recall after normal working hours.
