The selectee for this position will serve as a Purchasing Agent in the Material Management Department of NAVMED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER.
This is a Defense Acquisition Workforce Act (DAWIA) position and requires Purchasing Level II Certification. The incumbent must accomplish DAWIA requirements applicable to the duties of the position within 24 months.
Duties
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
Verifies all procurement requests are complete and performs all required research prior to selecting the method of procurement for use.
Processes tuition requests to schools covered under Educational Service Agreements (ESA) utilizing the authorized government procurement system.
Processes tuition and other procurement requests for submission to external support activities.
Maintains a tracking system to identify all annual contracts or annual contracts/leases with option years.
Males must be registered or exempt from Selective Service. www.sss.gov
Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
May be required to successfully complete a probationary/trial period.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE for the GS-07: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position such as:
Maintaining an active list of outstanding purchase awards sent to other locations and performing periodic follow-up to ensure completion.
Creating hard copy files for all purchase awards issued according to regulations.
Performing research or assisting customers in performing research for procurement.
Placing delivery orders against schedules similar to federal supply schedules.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE for the GS-08: In order to qualify for this position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to perform successfully the duties of the position such as:
Screening procurement requests for accuracy and availability to procure through Educational Service Agreements (ESA).
Performing monthly reconciliation of credit card statements for the Government Purchase Card or company credit card.
Providing training to others regarding the use of Government Services Administration (GSA) schedules, GSA website, and other similar available resources to accomplish product selection.
Maintaining contracts to ensure procurement, invoicing and payment information are available in the Standard Procurement System or similar procurement system.
