Duties
The Program Analyst performs and/or supports audits, inspections and evaluations, and investigations duties, assignments may involve new or controversial issues, or involve shaping major programs, compliance with new legislation, or facilitating the resolution of long-standing problem areas of vital importance to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Typical assignments may include:
- Conducting program assignments requiring integrated analysis of a number of management programs, systems, and operations.
- Drafting surveys, debriefs and reports describing results of work performance and outcomes.
- Researching and preparing proposals for audits, inspections and evaluations and/or investigations.
- Participating on joint projects and responding when expertise is required.
- Researching issues relating to non-concurrence on report findings or recommendations and provides recommendations regarding whether such matters should be referred to higher management officials at the headquarters level.
- Preparing various types of reports, briefings, and testimony that cover all major management aspects of DHS programs.
