Tooele Army Depot is located approximately 45 miles West of Salt Lake City, Utah. The Depot is in Tooele County and surrounded by the communities of Tooele, Grantsville, Stockton, and Rush Valley. The area surrounding the depot is as an urban center for a highly varied and productive agriculture industry. The depot is 42,974 acres and currently serves the missions of conventional ammunition storage, maintenance, demilitarization, and ammunition peculiar equipment. The depot was constructed in 1942 in an area with a historical tradition of Indian cultures. Originally the depot was known as the Tooele Ordnance Depot, which functioned as a storage depot for World War II supplies, ammunition, and combat vehicles. Currently, the depot has maintained the certification of ISO 9001:2000, incorporated the LEAN and Six Sigma structure, and are ready for new missions for not only the Army, but all services of Department of Defense, and partnerships with private industry.

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is US Citizens and Non-Citizens living within the local commuting area. The local commuting area is defined as; Tooele, Salt Lake and Utah Counties. This position is located at Tooele Army Depot MWR - Outdoor Recreation Shop. This is a FLEX position ant there are benefit entitlements. Flexible positions will normally be scheduled 0-40 hours per week dependent upon the needs of the organization. There is no set guaranteed number of hours for flexible positions. Schedule will include nights and weekends.

Duties

• In a recreation facility, assist in directing patrons to assure service is satisfactory; receive and resolve customer complaints; provide information and general instructions on the use of equipment and program information of the facilities to patrons. Maintain the cleanliness of assigned work area.
• Assist authorized patrons in use of the facility by scheduling the use of equipment, checking out equipment, providing safety instruction, demonstrating new equipment, instruct patrons how to properly use the equipment, etc. Receive returned items, inspect for obvious damage and missing parts. Assist with simple repair and maintenance. Check inventories and supplies.
• Check identification, collect fees when appropriate, and complete appropriate documentation.
• Participate in and direct group activities and arrange support for special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions. May provide work guidance to other staff.
• May be required to work at various places within Morale, Welfare and Recreation.

Qualifications

1. Work experience which involved dealing with the general public.
2. Best Qualified applicants will posses experience with simple repair/maintenance of recreation equipment such as camping trailers, ATVs, etc, assisting customers with recreation equipment checkout and knowledge of point of sale (POS) system.
