Duties
This position serves as a Health Technician (Optician) within the Surgical and Peri-operative Care Service for the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System in Los Angeles, California.
Major duties and responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Major duties and responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Using ophthalmic instruments and equipment to assist Veteran patients with their corrective eye vision needs;
- Assisting patients in the selection of frames, coordinating with their optical prescriptions;
- Adjusting frames and lens positions to fit the patient;
- Assisting in triage under the supervision of the eye care coordinator;
- Performing testing using various optician / optometry instrumentation and equipment such as refractometry, keratometry and tonometry testing and recording measurements; and
- Performing comprehensive visual field testing.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
