About the Agency

The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement is for U.S. Citizens and Non-Citizens within the Local Commuting Area of Fort Hamilton, NY. This includes the counties of: New York, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Richmond, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

This position is located at Fort Hamilton Services Department.

Duties

• Assist in the management and accountability of assigned property and performs a wide variety of supply clerical functions to include the requisition, receipt, storage, issue, and transfer of property items.
• Complies with procedures for maintaining property transaction records, and participates in the conduct of inventories for property accountability.
• Issues all turn-in documents, inventory adjustments, and hand receipt documents.
• Coordinates all supply requirements for activities serviced (i.e. GSA Supply / Stock Fund) to include any required liaison requirements with agencies such as the Defense Contracting Command.
• Moves and / or carries furniture and equipment on a regular basis using lifting / moving devices.
• Utilizes automated data processing systems to fully automate processes involved with supply and acquisition and ensures that program goals are met by guarding against and reducing fraud, waste and abuse.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will possess all of the following:

• Knowledge of appropriate references guides, supply manuals, and other publications in order to identify and classify items to the appropriate Federal Supply Class or subclass, AND
• Knowledge of automated systems to apply instructions for supply actions such as data entry, reports retrieval, search of specific records and error corrections, AND
• Demonstrated knowledge, skills and ability must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, AND
• Must have the ability to research and analyze material and the ability to communicate orally.

HIGHLY PREFERRED are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and:

1. At least 2 years of education above a high school level (60 semester credit hours).
2. At least 1 year of experience as a Supply Technician.
3. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

To be considered eligible for this position, the minimum qualifications above must be reflected on the resume. To also be considered as a highly preferred candidate, the highly preferred criteria listed above must also be reflected on the resume and for education, a transcript must be uploaded at the time of application.

Conditions of Employment:
