Fort Myer is a 15 minute commute to/from the Arlington National Cemetery Metro Station, a 10-15 minute commute to/from the Rosslyn, Virginia Metro Station, and is accessible by bus transportation. The installation is approximately 7 miles from Washington D.C. and a short distance from major roadways and express highways.

Duties
Major Duties:
· Review applications and supporting documentation for validity and compliance with applicable regulations
· Determine issuance of passes and access badges
· Process a variety of criminal history queries on visitors
· Utilize and operate computers to accomplish tasks
· Retrieve information from varies data basis
· Operate ancillary equipment and installation identification machines
· Provide guidance and information on security regulations and procedures
· Greet customers and determine eligibility to enter installation

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:performing a full range of visitor access assignments by processing a variety of queries on visitors, reviewing documentation for validity and compliance, issuing/denying passes and access badges, providing guidance and information on security regulations and procedures, and operating access control equipment.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
· Knowledge of Office Automation
· Customer Service
· Knowledge of practices, policies, and procedures of access control
· Operation of Access Control Equipment

For this job, you may qualify if your education meets the definition below:
Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school. (NOTE: You MUST provide a copy of your transcripts).

Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a state certification for operating NCIC terminals.
Position requires incumbent to work rotating shifts, to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
This position requires the incumbent to submit to urinalysis testing under the Drug Abuse Testing.
This position requires the incumbent to work scheduled overtime.
This position requires the incumbent to participate in regularly scheduled training.
This position requires the incumbent to be certified in CPR and first aid.
This position requires the incumbent to be able to type at least 40wpm.
