The Office of the Clerk for the U.S. House of Representatives is seeking a talented and energetic Helpdesk Technician to join a team that supports hardware and software for the Office of the Clerk. A successful candidate will support a wide range of computer equipment and applications.
This candidate will be someone who takes initiative, enjoys finding solutions when presented with challenges, works to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, is very detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work. As an experienced Helpdesk Technician, the applicant must have the temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant and professional manner. The applicant must also be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment in fulfillment of responsibilities.

Duties
1) Provides technical and user support for various computer systems and performs various data and processing tasks;
2) Assists and trains other system(s) personnel on the support and use of various systems;
3) Assists in information compilation for computer system(s);
4) Understands and supports other services of the Legislative Computer Systems (LCS);
5) Accepts performance based criticism and direction, meets attendance requirements as established by the office and works a flexible schedule including long hours, nights and weekends when necessary, willingness to accept overtime on short notice;
6) Maintains a good working relationship with other LCS staff, works cooperatively and courteously with others, works well under pressure and handles stress appropriately; and
7) Performs other official duties as assigned.
