The Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre seeks a well-organized individual with strong administrative skills to provide a wide range of administrative and clerical services.

Please note: This is a temporary part-time position, up to 6 months in duration. The hours of work are 20 hours per week.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will
• Book appointments, using an electronic database, for lawyers to see their clients via video conference
• Collect and maintain statistical data on visits
• Create and maintain forms and spreadsheets
• Maintain a filing system
• Take, transcribe and distribute minutes
• Schedule meetings and book boardrooms
• Perform other administrative and clerical services to senior management

How do I qualify?

Administrative Skills

• You demonstrate experience and skills in providing a wide range of administrative services
• You have knowledge of office administrative procedures, including confidentiality of information
• You have strong keyboarding skills
• You can operate office equipment, such as photocopier and fax machine

Computer Skills

• You are proficient in MS Office and software applications to produce a variety of documents, correspondence and spreadsheets, coordinate meetings and schedules, manage files, and track information

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You can communicate effectively with staff and management
• You have prepare a variety of written correspondence

File Management Knowledge

• You have knowledge of filing procedures to maintain a variety of files and records

Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills

• You can prioritize work and ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner
