The area of consideration for this vacancy announcement is for U.S. Citizens and Non-Citizens within the Local Commuting Area of Fort Hamilton, NY. This includes the counties of: New York, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Richmond, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester. (Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) Preference eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.)

Duties

• Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash bank and stocks service bar.
• Assures an adequate stock level is maintained, sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items.
• Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff.
• Records sales and makes change or prepares charge slips.
• Keeps bar and work area clean and sanitary.
• Identifies persons who become unruly or who appear intoxicated, resolves the problem or seeks assistance in accordance with established procedures.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will possess all of the following:

• mix drinks using alcoholic beverages,
• calculate bills and make change,
• recognize intoxicated patrons,
• recognize shortages of supplies and replace them as necessary,
• meet state/local age (18) requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages at time of appointment (projected appointment date: 6/1/2017),
• regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.

HIGHLY PREFERRED are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and:

• possess a VALID Bartending Certification (MUST be uploaded under "Other" at the TIME of APPLICATION)

PLEASE NOTE: Your resume must reflect the qualifications stated in the announcement and questionnaire to be rated eligible. You must also include the Highly Preferred criteria in your resume, if applicable.

**Applicants that meet the Minimum Qualifications & Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. All others will be referred if management does not make a selection from the Highly Preferred list**

Conditions of Employment:
