Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), Duty Location: San Diego, CA.

Duties

You will provide assistance within in the supply support area utilizing computerized record systems to locate, account, track and dispose of property. Specifically you will:

• Perform techinical reviews of proper identification, quantity, condition, cost acquisition numbers, and property labels;
• Place orders for materials, supplies and services for the organization and solicit bids through open market sources ensuring that maximum competition and adherence to all governing procurement and purchasing guidlines are followed;
• Work with a supply specialist to conduct annual inventories to include: reviewing, analyzing and certifying field generated inventory reports for technical compliance, completeness and accuracy, reconcile data and information with appropriate documentation and identify inventory discrepancies;
• lift, move, and carry moderately heavy items from one location to another; and
• Maintain inventory records and prepare inventory management reports.

Qualifications

GS-5: You must meet one of the following to qualify at the GS-5 grade level. Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level performing duties such as:
Gathering data for routine reports, maintaining transaction logs, office files and records, ordering routine equipment and services, typing office documents, and reviewing forms and other documents for completeness and accuracy.
Substitution of Education for Experience: You may substitute successful completion of a Bachelor's degree or a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a Bachelor's degree for the experience required at the GS-05 grade level; This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university. One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester or 45 quarter hours.
Combining Education and Experience: Appropriate combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-05 grade level.
Typing Proficiency: In addition to the above minimum qualification requirements, applicants must be able to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample, with three or fewer errors. You may self-certify your proficiency in the Occupational Questionnaire.
National Service Experience (i.e. volunteer experience):Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
