About the Position:
This is a DOD Demonstration Project Position. Position is located at the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC), Aviation Engineering Directorate, Redstone Arsenal, AL. Incumbent serves as a Program Support Assistant providing assistant to the Division Director.
The employee will work in an adequately lighted and ventilated office environment. We are dedicated to developing our employees through challenging work assignments, training, and educational opportunities.

The Huntsville area has one of the largest research parks in the United States. Duties
Manage budget and expenses for the division.
Manage the divisional website including maintenance and improvements.
Perform property book management. Coordinate the performance appraisal.
Manage personnel files and training plans.
Track division taskers and suspenses.

Qualifications
AMRDEC IS A DEMONSTRATION LABORATORY, and positions are placed in paybands. The payband for this position, DK-03, is equivalent to GS-07 through GS-08. Candidates must meet the minimum standards for entry into the DK-03 payband, which is GS-07. Specialized Experience:
To qualify applicant must possess one year of specialize experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level the DK-02 (GS-06 or equivalent pay band) in the Federal Service which includes experience in providing administrative support including scheduling, travel orders/vouchers, timekeeping, preparation of memorandums and performance management processes.
If the qualifications of the applicant selected for the vacancy exceeds the minimum required, placement salary may be adjusted higher, commensurate with those qualifications.
This is a TERM position. It is temporary and may be extended up to a maximum of five years.
There is potential that employees hired from this vacancy announcement may be converted to a career conditional appointment.
To be converted to a career conditional appointment the employee: (a) must have been selected for the term position under competitive procedures, with the announcement specifically stating that the individuals selected for the term position may be eligible for conversion to a career conditional appointment at a later date, (b) must serve two years of substantially continuous service in the contingent appointment, (c) must be selected under merit promotion procedures for the permanent position, (d) must have a current rating of "B" or better, or equivalent under other systems.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, must meet the qualification requirement using following:
Education: One year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as a degree in Business Administration, or related fields of study.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
