The Army Strong Beginnings Pre-K is a program designed to prepare children to be successful to enter school. Curriculum focuses on the social, emotional, and physical development of children; equips them with basic academics and "Kindergarten Classroom Etiquette" skills to enhance "school readiness."

Duties
Duties include, but not limited to:
1.Provides learning experiences in language and literacy, mathematics, social studies, science and discovery, music and movement, technology, citizenship, physical education and creative expression to prepare children to enter school using The Creative Curriculum system.
2. Provides supervision, oversight, and accountability for children in compliance with DoD, Army and local policies, guidance, and standards. Maintains staff/child ratio requirements.
3. Evaluates academic and social growth of children and maintains appropriate records. Observes children for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed.
4. Implements an active program of parental involvement and encourages parent communication, observation, and participation. Holds parents conferences to discuss children's progress.
5. Conducts Early Childhood Environment Rating (ECERS) and uses results for program improvement.

Qualifications
-Meet Target-level requirements and satisfactory performance.
-Possess eighteen (18) month experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
-Possess and maintain a Child Development Associate (CDA) or Military School Age Credential. OR
Meet Entry -level requirements.
-Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and/or youth.
-Possess AA degree with major emphasis in early childhood education or child development. OR
Meet Entry -level requirements.
-Possess BA/BS degree with a major emphasis in early childhood education, Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or related behavioral sciences.
-Experience working as a Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant, Child and Youth Program Technician, or Child and Youth Program Assistant (Target Level – 4) is highly preferred.
Highly Preferred:
-1 year experience working as a Lead Child and Youth Program Assistant, Child and Youth Program Technician, or Child and Youth Program Assistant (Target Level-4)
-Knowledge of Teaching Strategies Gold Curriculum or similar
-Knowledge of Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales (ECERS) or similar
