This position is located in Smithsonian Institution, Smithsonian Facilities (SF). The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support managing funds, purchasing supplies, equipment, and services.
Duties
Performs administrative, program and/or visitor support work, such as planning, writing, correspondence control, communication, explanation, instruction and/or liaison on various subjects.
Performs written communication, through word processing software. Writes specialized documents, such as official correspondence.
Develops a wide variety of visually aesthetic material including newsletters, web sites, booklets, staff directories, planners, calendars, brochures, posters and emails for presentation and or distribution.
Performs basic or advanced duties related to providing human resource services.Reviews reports and studies to ensure that user requirements are met and appropriate rules and regulations are utilized.

Qualifications
Experience: Grade 07: You must have one year of specialized experience (Federal or other) at the GS-06 level that is close or similar to the work of this job. For this position Specialized Experience is defined as defined as performing administrative and/or program support work related to communication, program administration and human resources, producing programmatic or technical writings, and developing a variety of aesthetic materials to include newsletters, websites and presentations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Part-time and/or unpaid experience related to this position will be considered to determine the total number of years and months of experience. Be sure to note the number of paid or unpaid hours worked each week.
