The Pathways Internship Program is an excellent opportunity for students to get an interesting, real-world experience in the field of engineering while contributing to the defense of our nation.
This recruitment is for:
- a temporary summer and/or winter internship.

Summer Employment Timeframe: May 15, 2017 - September 1, 2017 and
Winter Employment Timeframe: December 11, 2017 - January 19, 2018
These positions are located at Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) locations at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C.; Indian Head, Maryland; Moorestown, New Jersey; Portsmouth, Virginia; Dahlgren, Virginia; and Wallops Island, Virginia.
Salary ranges for each location are:
Washington Navy Yard, GS-3: 28,886 - 37,557; GS-4: 32,428 - 42,151

Moorestown, NJ, GS-3: 28,152 - 36,602; GS-4: 31,604 - 41,080

Duties
As a student trainee within the Pathways Internship Program you will be given an opportunity to pursue work that is relevant and beneficial to your academic studies.
The Pathways program is an excellent opportunity for students to get an interesting, real-world experience in the field of engineering or engineering technology, while contributing to the defense of our nation.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
-Maintaining notebooks of collected data involving copying of numerals and mathematical symbols,
-Performing calculations applying standard formulas,
-Assisting engineers by searching technical reports and publications to compile engineering tables, graphs and charts for use by engineers,
-Attending engineering meetings and conferences and participating in formal on-the-job training programs,
-Making simple detail drawings (e.g., of components) for engineering sketches and layouts designed by professional staff members.
