Veterans Administration Community Care Network Payer Rates and Charges -- Effective 10/1/2019
Dana Ritchie and Daniel CiolekAs you may have heard in previous AHCA correspondence, VA's new network of licensed healthcare providers is the Community Care Network (CCN). The VA has posted the updated payer rates and charges associated with the CCN effective October 1, 2019 on their webpage here. According to the VA, reasonable charges are based on amounts that third parties pay for the same services furnished by private-sector health care providers in the same geographic area. In the past, VA used average cost-based, per diem rates for billing insurers. Reasonable charges are calculated for inpatient and outpatient facility charges, and for professional or clinician charges for inpatient and outpatient care. AHCA will be sure to keep our members apprised of any other updates around VA programs as we receive them. If you have questions on the CCN or any VA related matters, please contact AHCA’s Dana Ritchie at dritchie@ahca.org.
