What can I expect to do in this role?
• Support the delivery of sustainable resource monitoring, provide resource management advice, conduct training, and lead regional and provincial Crown Land management programs and projects.• Assist in administering land tenure, license and permit processes, such as; Work Permits, Land Use Permits, Crown land sales and participating in work program activities (e.g. land title administration, land appraisals) and field projects (Crown landfill site management and Crown road management).
• Assist with work planning and delivery for the lands and waters program.
• Assist with environmental assessments for the disposition of Crown resources.
• Assist with inspections, compliance and audit activities for the Regional lands and waters resource management program.
• Assist with and provide support to other regional initiatives and programs as required.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
Resource Management proficiency and technical knowledge:• You have a broad understanding of natural resource management, (including natural resource management legislation, strategic resource management guidance documents, administrative policies /procedures) associated with Crown lands and waters program to participate in licensing, permitting, issue resolution, providing staff and Sr. Management technical advice, and assist with compliance activities.
• You have knowledge of other resource management programs (Lands and Waters, Fish and Wildlife and Forestry) and experience participating in the delivery of these programs in compliance with relevant safety legislation.
• You are experienced in land use and resource management implementation and planning processes and have previously contributed your expertise and technical advice to assist with resource management projects.
Communication, planning, coordination and interpersonal skills:
• You have proven analytical skills and problem solving abilities.
• You have verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation skills to assist in preparation for or participate in stakeholder meetings or public consultation processes or in responding to public inquiries.
• You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to prepare written products and participate in briefings, public meetings, and conduct training.
• You have proven experience with computer software packages including MS-Excel, MS Word, MS Access, ARC/Info, to prepare correspondence and reports, input and retrieve data and use internet and e-mail in the performance of duties.

Eligibility:
• Proof of eligibility to work in Canada;
• Has graduated or will graduate from an approved or legally authorized college or university with a degree, postgraduate certificate or diploma within the last four years;
• Candidates are only eligible to participate in one MNRF 18-month placement and must not have participated in the MNRF internship program in the past.
