There are currently two positions available in our Kamloops office:
-- 1 Regular, full time, permanent position
-- 1 Temporary Assignment to the end of May, 2018
Regular employees must have their supervisor's approval prior to applying on the temporary opportunity

FrontCounter BC provides a range of services to the public and to other government agencies involved in utilizing and managing Crown land and natural resources.  FrontCounter BC assists clients by coordinating access to tenures, permits, licenses, Crown land sales and grants for all the natural resource sector agencies. It is a single window service for businesses and individual citizens seeking information and/or authorizations to utilize Crown natural resources.  FrontCounter BC staff help navigate the application process from start to finish.

The Client Service Assistant provides front line service based on general knowledge of various Natural Resource Agencies and other agencies’ legislation, regulations, policies and procedures, to clients of the provincial government’s natural resource agencies.  This position provides client services, financial and resource administration services for FrontCounter BC and ministry regional operations.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
  • Secondary school graduation.
  • Minimum 3 years clerical or administration experience in a formal business environment, which should include:
    • Experience providing client/customer service to a diverse range of individuals, organizations, and industries;
    • Experience with word processing, creating spreadsheets and working with standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);
    • Experience providing client service in confrontational or highly sensitive situations;
    • Experience in providing excellent written and oral communication with a variety of clients/customers in complex situations.
Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following:
  • Experience working in the field of natural resource management.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated or policy/legislation governed environment.
  • Experience using a variety of client/server database applications.
  • Experience with conflict resolution and negotiation in a regulatory environment.
