A summer job in terminology at the Bank of Canada will allow you to gain experience in a working environment where your ideas are valued and where your co-workers are keen, professional language experts.The Bank of Canada is currently looking for a summer student who wishes to gain experience in terminology. Under the supervision of the Terminologist, you will provide terminological support to the translators in Translation Services, as well as to Bank employees.
Our dynamic environment offers an interesting opportunity for any individual wishing to excel and work in terminology within a professional translation service.
Your future responsibilities
As a student in terminology, you will be asked to perform English-to-French term searches, create bilingual records to be loaded into the Translation Services’ terminology database, scan documents for terms and participate in a variety of terminology-related projects.Your education and experience
You must have completed at least two years of a bachelor’s degree in translation, have taken a terminology course and must resume studies in the fall of 2018.Your knowledge and skills
The key requirements of this job must be demonstrated in the cover letter and resumé, which must be submitted in French with the application to allow the level of proficiency of the target language to be assessed.• Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual). Candidates must be fully functional in second official language upon appointment.
