French Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator Education Officer 27R Salary $66,200.03 - $75,658.71 annually plus 3.3% Temporary Market Adjustment An eligibility list may be established for similar equivalent positions in other subjects/disciplines The Learning Modernization Project plays a central role in facilitating the renewal and transformation of BC’s K-12 education system through personalized learning. We exemplify personalized learning principles (e.g., cooperation, creativity, innovation, social responsibility) in our work and in how we engage with others. The Branch’s ongoing areas of responsibility include: Curriculum, Graduation Program Assessments, Foundation Skills Assessments, Classroom Assessment, and National/International Assessments. Reporting to the Director, Provincial, National and International Assessment, the role of the French Curriculum and Assessment Coordinator is to develop and support new strategic directions for the design, development and implementation of K-12 provincial French Language Arts curriculum and assessment programs, based on a thorough knowledge of current pedagogy, emerging technologies, government strategic directions, as well as jurisdictional and academic research. You will also maintain the development and production of the current and future assessment and examination programs, consult and collaborate with educators in the system to develop, pilot, validate and implement curricular frameworks and programs. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below: Education Bachelor’s degree in education or related field. Eligibility for certification through the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch is preferred SPECIAL REQUIREMENT This position requires the Coordinator to be fully bilingual (to read, write, speak, comprehend and otherwise interact in French and English) and to have an in-depth understanding of French education programs.
