BC offers a host of exceptional recreation opportunities and you can be a member of the Recreation Sites and Trails team that works to manage and maintain BC’s backcountry playground consisting of some of the province’s most spectacular recreation sites and trails. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the management of a network of recreational facilities in the diverse Cariboo-Chilcotin region. This vast area is approximately 10.3 million hectares in size, stretching from Clinton in the south, to the Cottonwood River north of Quesnel, east to Wells Gray Provincial Park, and west to Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, and divided into two separate Recreation Districts. The Recreation Technician will work alongside the District Recreation Officers for both the Quesnel-Central Cariboo and the 100 Mile House-Chilcotin Recreation Districts to regularly interact with a variety of highly engaged stakeholders (e.g., community representatives, recreation clubs and organizations, First Nations, other government agencies and employees) to participate in shared initiatives, respond to problems and issues, and to inform, educate and communicate the objectives and program goals of the Recreation Sites and Trails Branch. Williams Lake is a great place to live and boasts an inviting and scenic environment in a central location. The climate in the Cariboo is great, with 4 distinct seasons, each offering its own unique recreation experiences and opportunities.
