ABOUT HEALTH CANADA

In the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) of Health Canada, we strive to provide access to quality health services, improve health outcomes, and support greater control of the health system by First Nations and Inuit.

We are searching for collaborative and strategic individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic and energetic environment, with a strong focus on quality client service. We are currently looking to staff various positions of the First Nations and Inuit Health Branch's Program and Administrative Services Group that provide support services. These positions will be primarily involved in the planning, development, delivery or management of administrative and federal government policies, programs, services or other activities directed to the public. Examples of these types of positions within this branch include; Junior Program Officer, Program Delivery. Program Officer, Program Delivery. Senior Program Officer (Specialist), Program Delivery. Senior Program Officer (Supervisor) Regional External Audit and Financial Budgetary Control Officer.

By joining our team, you will have opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community based programming. You will build and support strong working relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, families, and individuals, with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health risks.

Our office is located in Canada Place at 9700 Jasper Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. Our workplace is in close proximity to Churchill Square, the river valley and many restaurants. It has several bus and LRT stops close by, as well as parking lots in the vicinity which makes it easy to get to and from work.

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar term and/or permanent positions, acting, assignments/secondments, or deployments. It may be used to fill positions within the PM-02, PM-03 and PM-04 group/level for same or similar positions and may be use by other regional or government departments.

Depending on the needs of the organization, a random selection may be used at any time during the inventory process to establish which applicants from the inventory will be assessed. The first evaluation will commence December 15, 2017; therefore, if you wish for your application to be considered as parts of the first random selection please submit your application via online application process prior to December 14, 2017.

Re-evaluation period: If you submitted an application and/or underwent assessment and were found not qualified, you may resubmit an application to be considered after a 3 month waiting period, from the time when the last application or assessment was completed.
