Summary
The successful candidate must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
This position is an integral part of a small team that provides personnel security services to the agency. Professionalism, discretion, reliability, service orientation, and an ability to work both independently and as part of a team are key requirements.
This position is located within the Personnel Security Office, Security and Emergency Preparedness, Office of the Chief Operating Officer.

The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.
The incumbent of this position may work a flextime or compflex work schedule.
This is a non-supervisory, non-bargaining unit position.

Assembles appropriate level packets of security forms for applicants, employees and contractors, tracks submission, resolves discrepancies and gaps, and prepares investigative requests. Reviews clearance request forms and reports of background investigations to detect obvious errors or omissions in the information.
Conducts security namechecks of limited scope, considering the applicant's background and the sensitivity of the position involved. Verifies position sensitivity and investigative requirement and reviews application materials for information of possible suitability concern to process personnel action recommendations.
Provides general information regarding personnel security requirements to managers and staff.
Prepares form letters and processes requests, such as clearance certifications, visit requests and accreditation letters. Obtains and organizes specialized subject matter information and materials, including records, reports, and various types of correspondence.
Within established agency guidelines, acts as a central resource person for implementing and maintaining office control systems and security control databases, such as those for the location, arrangement, access to, and use of office files, and for maintenance, transfer, and disposition of records. Manages records destruction to facilitate space management and adherence to prescribed schedules. Exercises extreme care in the handling of sensitive personnel security records and classified information. Controls incoming and outgoing mail and materials.
Monitors supply and inventory utilization. Performs studies and surveys of new office equipment or supplies and recommends acceptance or rejection. Maintains inventory of office supplies and equipment. Prepares requisitions for supplies and equipment and requests for service.
Carries out the successive steps and handles problems and deviations in the work assignments in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices.Travel Required
