The Defense Contract Management Agency serves as the independent eyes and ears of the Department of Defense (DoD) and its partners, delivering actionable acquisition insight from the factory floor to the front line around the world. We are an independent combat support agency within the DoD. We are the Department's contract manager, responsible for ensuring Federal acquisition programs, supplies, and services are delivered on time, within cost and meet performance requirements.
About the Position:
Defense Contract Management Agency uses the Expedited Hiring Authority to recruit and appoint qualified individuals directly into shortage category or critical need acquisition positions.
This is an obligated position.
If you are a current permanent DCMA Employee employed at a "lower GS grade": You will be considered for a Temporary Promotion opportunity. A temporary promotion may be made or extended up to a maximum of five years. A temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition.
If you are a current permanent DCMA Employee employed at a "the same GS grade or higher": You will be considered for a Detail opportunity. A detail may be made and/or extended in 120 day increments. A detail may be made permanent without further competition.
Non-DCMA Permanent Employee Applicants: You will be considered for a Term Position Not to Exceed 13 Months, your appointment may be extended up to a maximum of 4 years. This position may be made permanent without further competition to those candidates that have non-competitive status.

Responsibilities
Reviews contracts and technical data packages to identify the specification requirements which the contractor's processes must meet.
Establishes and maintains a communications channel with the Contracting Office and Program Management Office as necessary.
Reviews contractor's make or buy decisions for new contracts for new items.
During planning, considers the use of existing credible data, the need for verifications of key quality system elements to validate data, and/or the need for full or partial system auditing.
Performs evaluations of supplier quality systems. Evaluations are accomplished using existing credible data.
Travel Required
Occasional travel - Business Travel is required 5% of the time.
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
This is a Defense Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level II within 24 months of entrance on duty.
You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
Defense National Relocation Program will not be authorized.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
All selections under an announcement must be made within 6 months from the issuance date of the certificate referral list.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Must file an annual financial statement.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Experience Required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-09). Specialized experience is defined as: Experience applying Mechanical or Electrical quality assurance principles, concepts, methodology and techniques when determining product conformance related to manufacturing, and /or production; experience performing statistical and quality data analysis, and evaluation to determine supplier compliance with contractual requirements.
Education can substituted for experience.
