Responsibilities
The successful selectee will perform the following duties:
- Provides oversight compliance in the Habitability Branch Hazardous waste (HM) operations including origination, control, disposal, identification of hazardous waste and making, labeling, and storage and maintain records.
- Serves at the primary focal point and point of contact to the BOSC Operations Service Contract and Environmental Division for the shipment of hazardous waste from TRIREFFAC's Habitability Branch Satellite Accumulation Areas to Naval Submarine Base hazardous Temporary Containment Areas.
- Assists the Hazardous Material Management Program Manager in the analysis and evaluation of industrial process material substitution for Habitability Branch process to reduce costs and liability of waste disposal.
- Performs inspection, receipt, labeling and storage of HM inventory awaiting issue to confirm conformance of HM to specifications for procurement and availability of Material Safety Data Sheet for the particular HM.
Travel Required
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

Requirements:
All qualifications requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.
Incumbent must maintain and obtain an IT II designation; failure to acquire and maintain the required security clearance and IT designation will result in removal from the position.
Incumbent must participate in a medical surveillance program.
Incumbent may be required to travel to obtain required technical training.
This is a designated drug testing position; the incumbent will be tested periodically for illegal drugs.
Physical Demands
Light to moderate physical exertion will be required in lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasional lifting objects up to 80 pounds with assistance or the use of material handling equipment.
Working Environment
Work is primarily performed in non-air conditioned space with only heat available. Incumbent will be exposed to a hot, humid, and /or drafty working environment.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of a Materials Handler without more than normal supervision such as: Provides customer service by issuing hazardous materials (HM) in proper types and quantitIes to the requesting center; maintains specified inventory levels of HM in the issue center, prepares requisitions and re-orders materials in accordance with inventory control system to maintain stock levels; ensures material is properly containerized and labeled and determines appropriate compatible storage location for the material and operates material handling equipment and automated material handling systems including: a forklift, hand trucks, hand dollies, carts, and pallet jacks small vehicle (pickup trucks).
