Summary
This position is located in the Sawtooth National Forest in Stanley, ID. The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative duties to the unit.

Responsibilities
Tracks and maintains the unit's office supplies. Purchases supplies as needed using the appropriate purchase method. Monitor's payroll reports, ensuring all employees are paid. Monitors leave reports, initiates, and assists with personnel actions. Provides assistance with travel, time & attendance, and inputs time/travel for temporary employees. Serves as a correspondence editor, checking for grammar, spelling and completing correspondence in the database. Uses Excel to track residents in and out of quarters and logs overtime authorizations. Maintains electronic filing system and pertinent references, manuals, and handbooks. Creates and maintains expenditures spreadsheets. Provides guidance and oversight in absence of supervisor. Researching and answering questions, elevating issues if necessary.
Successful completion of a one-year probationary or trial period.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
For the GS-05 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-04 grade level, OR a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school; OR combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting with administrative support for personnel actions, payroll reports, and/or travel arrangements. Updating spreadsheets, databases, and processing incoming and outgoing correspondence.
