WHAT DOES A SUPPLY CLERK DO?
Supply clerks perform technical supply support work necessary to ensure the effective inventory management of published products and supplies in the Distribution Center.
WHAT IS THE WAGE & INVESTMENT (W&I) DIVISION:
The Wage & Investment Division (W&I) serves about 122 million taxpayers who file upwards of 94 million returns each year. Key W&I objectives are to provide high-quality taxpayer assistance, and to enable taxpayers to transact and communicate electronically to file their returns, make payments and receive assistance. W&I partners with private organizations to provide assistance to such disadvantaged groups as elderly and low-income taxpayers.
Positions are located in the Wage & Investment Division, Customer Assistance Relationship and Education (CARE)/ Media & Publications, Distribution, National Distribution Center in Bloomington, IL.
An intermittent employee works a schedule that may have irregular number of hours and days for which there is no pre-arranged scheduled tour of duty. Hours may be changed by management to meet workload demands.
The anticipated start date is mid December - January, 2018.

As a Supply Clerk you will:
Assists in maintaining inventories of published products to continually fill orders.
• Updates the Warehouse Management System (WMS) or CIDS and CAPS or any other inventory system to
accurately reflect daily inventory balance on hand for published products.
• Receives, inspects, and accepts incoming shipments of printed products following Government procedures
prior to placing published products into inventory.
• Follows receipt, inspection, acceptance, handling, storage, fulfillment, shipping, and disposal procedures for
security, serially numbered, and Official Use Only (OUO) published products.
• Assists in calculating and establishing reorder points based on daily demand, lead-time, safety stock, and
demand type (seasonal or non-seasonal).
• Assists in verifying physical inventory against inventory records and reconciling differences into CIDS or
WMS.
• Assists in providing daily backorder data including product title, catalog number, the number of backorders
by product types, and the total quantity needed to fill the backorders to the designated Government
Program Manager.
• Participates in cycle counts and performs inventory management activities to account for published
products. Maintains 98% inventory accuracy 100% of the time.
