    This position is located in the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Payroll Processing Division, Office of Human Resources, Chief Administrative Office (CAO), United States Capitol Police (USCP). The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of administrative duties related to the filing and systematic arrangement of records for storage or reference purposes.

    Responsibilities

    Establishes and maintains personnel records and files applying rules and regulations governing records retention and guidelines governing who can access records containing personally identifiable information (PII).

    Updates official employee records which are maintained and managed by the Office of Human Resources (OHR). Creates personnel record files, which contain five (5) components: Confidential, Central Personnel, Payroll, Medical, and Time & Attendance (T&A). Creates a Unit File which is stored and maintained by the employees' organizational unit.

    Reviews contents of incoming reports and correspondence addressing complex and specialized matters within OHR. Materials vary in format and require determinations regarding placement within an automated and/or manual filing system.

    Obtains and provides personnel and payroll information to inquiring employees, management officials, or other authorized parties. Run reports related to payroll data through the National Finance Center (NFC) and WorkBrain automated systems. Reviews pay documents for quality control purposes and determines the need for reconciliation actions due to processing errors. Ensures compliance with Federal and Departmental human resources/payroll regulations and policy guidelines, and the accuracy of a variety of T&A transactions.

    Serves as a point of contact for the request and review of records to include verification of employment and requests related to background investigation processes.

    Performs client services duties, serves as a front desk receptionist as well as, other equivalent duties as needed.
