THIS IS A PERMANENT, PRIVATE FUNDED POSITION WHICH DOES NOT CONFER COMPETITIVE FEDERAL STATUS TO THE INCUMBENT. THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS PACKAGE INCLUDING HEALTH INSURANCE, LIFE INSURANCE, RETIREMENT COVERAGE, AND SICK/ANNUAL LEAVE ACCRUAL.

This position is located within the Office of the Director (D) Development Division (DDEV) of the National Gallery of Art. The Development Office is primarily responsible for raising private funds from prospective individual, foundation, and legacy donors. The Development Associate for Annual Giving helps manage and implement the daily operations of the Annual Giving Program, which raises external support for priority needs as defined by the leadership of the Gallery.

The incumbent:
- Coordinates the Annual Giving renewal program.
- Develops the annual renewal schedule, maintains a tracking system, updates renewal letters regularly, and prepares special solicitation letters as needed.
- Oversees production and mailing of renewal solicitations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintains database records related to the renewal process.
- Develops and maintains systems to identify current members for special upgrade solicitations and to identify lapsed members for special renewal appeals.
- Generates Annual Giving membership and financial reports as directed by the Development Officer for Annual Giving.
- Coordinates the organization and implementation of weekend and evening events for Circle members including the production of guest lists and mailing invitations.
- Coordinates the delivery of Exhibition Circle member benefits and services.
- Develops overall benefits mailing schedule and serves as liaison to office of Special Events for Exhibition Circle events.
- Assists in the coordination of Exhibition Circle sponsorships.
- Drafts exhibition sponsorship announcements and ensures all printed materials are up to date.
- Oversees the continued development of content relevant to the annual giving program on the National Gallery of Art's website.
- Develops online content and communications for members on a regular basis.
- Enters and updates information relating to the Gallery's annual giving program and events on Raiser's Edge system as assigned.
- Proposes changes in record keeping procedure and standards as appropriate.
- Provides other administrative support for Circle program as assigned.
- Serves as a liaison with Circle members via telephone, e-mail, and at occasional events.
- Assumes additional responsibilities at the discretion of the Development Officer for Annual Giving as appropriate.
