Electricity Generation Company (Malawi) Limited (EGENCO) is a company that carries on the business of generating electricity in Malawi.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill the following vacant position tenable in the Company.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Person Specification

• Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent
• University Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Part III City & Guilds of London Obtained from the Polytechnic or any recognised institution
• Be prepared to work on callouts and at odd hours with minimal supervision
• Must be conversant with industrial safety rules and regulations
• Knowledge of electrical systems and computer applications in Microsoft Excel, Word and AUTOCAD will be an advantage
• Between 25 and 35 years of age
• Must have 3 years working experience in heavy Plant Maintenance Industry.

Job Specification

• Carrying out breakdown maintenance on Hydro Power Generation Plants, Equipment controls and Ancillary Plants
• Carrying out preventive maintenance on Hydro Power Generation Plants, Equipment Controls and Ancillary Plants According to schedule
• Carrying out rehabilitation and modernisation works as required
• Initiation of procurement of spare parts for maintenance works
• Any other duties as assigned.
