Summary
The mission of the U.S. International Boundary & Water Commission is to provide binational solutions to issues that arise during the application of United States - Mexico treaties regarding boundary demarcation, national ownership of waters, sanitation, water quality, and flood control in the border region.

Duties
Participate in the identification of pollutants to such as air, soil, water, and noise.
Compile factual information on surface water and ground water quantity and quality.
Verify location coordinates for water quality monitoring sites.
Determine which data categories should be established for new databases or spreadsheets.
Use a computer to prepare graphical presentations of data.
You must be a U.S. Citizen or Naturalized U.S. Citizen.
Qualifications
Qualifications must be met by 09/11/2017
Minimum Qualification Requirement - To qualify for this position, you must also have:
A. One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service or equivalent pay systems that provided the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: (1) collecting water, sediment, and aquatic samples for laboratory analysis; (2) maintaining a watershed inventory of surface water quality monitoring data from all available sources; (3) assisting in development of methods for inputting and organizing information in a database; and (4) drafting environmental reports such as water quality studies, technical memorandums or other documents. Or,
B. Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university. Note: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. Or,
C. An equivalent combination of the specialized experience and education stated in A and B above. To compute this, first determine your total qualifying specialized experience as a percentage of the requirement stated in A above; then determine your qualifying education (above 60 semester hours) as a percentage of the education requirement stated in B above; add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal 100% to qualify.
