About the Agency

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is for Citizens and Non-Citizens worldwide. Salary depends on actual hours worked. Hourly rate for leave and pay will be $17.50 to $18.00 per hour. No pay/salary will be earned during the seasonal non-duty, non-pay period of May 31st thru August 15th.


The mission of the Directorate of Cadet Activities (DCA) is to significantly enhance the development of the United States Corps of Cadets militarily, physically, academically, moral-ethically, spiritually, and socially by providing organized, comprehensive and diverse programs and facilities, which provide for entertainment, extracurricular, recreational, cultural and social activities.

Located in the scenic Hudson River valley, only 50 miles from New York City, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point is a four-year academic institution, a nationally-renowned historic site, and the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. West Point's 3,000 civilian employees have access to Eisenhower Hall Theatre, the Hudson Valley's premier performing arts center, and recreational facilities such as an 18-hole Golf Course and Ski Slope.

Duties

• Serves as a Transportation Assistant for all Directorate of Cadet Activities Extracurricular Clubs and Competitive Sports Teams.
• Coordinates all travel arrangements (lodging/ground and/or air) for Army teams participating in away competitions. Prepares itineraries, travel orders, and travel vouchers.
• Coordinates with hotel to ascertain lowest rates possible and availability for booking. Coordinates with Transportation Motor Pool (TMP) for transportation requests when needed. Inputs data into the Academy Management System (AMS) for approval by the United States Corps of Cadets (USCC) and Office of the Dean (O/Dean).
• Reconciles credit card statements IAW published policies and regulations.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will possess the following:

• Work experience coordinating transportation requests.
• Work experience preparing a variety of reports, memorandums, data charts and spreadsheets.
• Must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
