Illovo Sugar Malawi PLC’s Nchalo operations situated 80 km South of Blantyre invites applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the following position of Assistant Human Resources Manager in the Human Resources Department

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• A Bachelors Degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration
• Must have at least five years working experience in general human resources management in a busy and challenging work environment

THE PERSON

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the ideal candidate must be of high Personal standing and ability to assist the Human Resources Manager to provide a technically sound Human Resources service to the business and must have competencies in the following areas:

• High level of Business Acumen demonstrated in the ability to provide HR business partnership to the line functions
• Demonstrated knowledge of Malawi Labour Legislation with the ability to provide advisory service in employment practices and handling of employment legal issues
• Exposure to dealing with Trade Unions from shop floor levels to collective bargaining negotiations
• Knowledge and experience in HR administration with a bias in HR Information Systems and HR Analytics
• Sound theoretical and practical knowledge on Human Resources Development
• Sound knowledge and experience in management of employee benefits not limited to Pension fund administration, Medical Aid Scheme and housing
• Good understanding of SHE practices in a high risk work environment
• Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and CSR initiatives
• Experience in Quality Management and Continuous Improvement(CI) Practices
• Computer literacy coupled with good verbal and written communication skills
• High level of planning, interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills
