Summary

About the Agency

The selectee for this position will serve as a Mail Clerk (MVO) in the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR PEARL HARBOR.

Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

• You will receive, screen, sort, consolidate, and processes mail manually or with computerized equipment.
• You will distribute inter-office mail
• You will calculate postage to all classes of mail packing, endorsing and addressing requirements meet specifications in USPS Domestic or International Mail Manuals.
• You will operate light vehicles to pick up and deliver official and interoffice mail at predetermined sites.
• You will load and unload vehicles.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Receiving loose, pouched or sacked administrative communications for metering; 2) Performing initial screening to ensure mail is properly wrapped, sealed and meet weight and size limitations; 3) Determining the correct organizational segment to which the mail is address and presort by mail code numbers, USPS stop numbers, locations, zip codes, or similar routing instructions. 4) Receiving, recording, sorting, processing and dispatching accountable mail i.e., registered certified, insured, etc.; 5) Operating light vehicles to pick up and deliver official and interoffice mail at predetermined sites.
