About the Agency

The selectee for this position will serve as an Information Security Specialist in the Security Department located at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station of NAVCOMTELSTA SAN DIEGO.

Duties

The successful selectee will perform the following duties:

• Reports, prepares, registers, classifies, processes, receives and transmits electronic key and information.
• Prepares accurate electronic key order information and reports.
• Assigns, modifies and removes User Representative Privileges.
• Handles and safeguards Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) hardware and software.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume is the key means we have for evaluating your skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to this position. Therefore, we encourage you to be clear and specific when describing your experience.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Reporting, preparing, registering, classifying, processing, receiving and transmitting electronic key and information
• Preparing accurate electronic key order information and reports
• Handling and safeguarding Electronic Key Management System hardware and software.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Education:

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: Applicants may substitute the following education for the required experience, provided it demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of the position: 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be combined to meet the total qualification requirements.
Requirements:
This is a Department of the Navy drug testing designated position. In accordance with Executive Order 12546, applicants selected are required to submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test result prior to appointment. In addition, this position is a drug-testing designated position (TDP) subject to random testing for illegal drug use.

Overtime may be required based on mission/workload or other deadlines and may include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Emergency-Essential designated position.

Incumbent will be required to comply with the DON Cyber IT/CSWF Program requirements.
